Episodes of scattered showers and more variable temperatures through west and central Ukraine during the next 5-7 days will improve conditions for development of winter wheat following the extended dry spell that began to break during this past weekend.

Crop development is running at least 4 weeks ahead of normal. Conditions also favour planting of spring grains in Ukraine and south Russia at this time.
