Snapshot on GASC Tenders/12.5% Wheat Price Direction. 2016-17

GASC bookings’ delivery period is typically referred to 30-45 days after tender close date. Average prices should not therefore be read as spot benchmarks. Similarly, GASC’s Booking balance is referred to bookings (not deliveries) during the 2015-16 MY.

The dominant wheat origin  in 2016-17 MY was Russian and Dreyfus/Aston were the lead suppliers to GASC in 2016.

GASC has booked 5.6 mln mt of wheat since July 01, 2016. There are still 935k mt to be booked until the end of 2016-17 MY.

GASC ‘s FOB average price on its March 15, 2017 tender was USD16.5 higher on year, a rise partly reflecting the relatively scarcity of  12.5%  milling wheat and the weaker Rouble value in comparison with last year.
