Ukrainian wheat exports as of May 03, 2017 were 10% higher on year, a rise driven by strong demand from South East Asia.
Export Surplus to June 30, 2017 stood at 0.9 mln mt (2015/16 MY: 2.2 mln mt). The current surplus difference is down to the lower level of carry-in stocks in 2016-17 MY and a slightly lower crop output in 2016. Feed wheat’s share over total production was slightly lower in 2016.

Top destinations for Ukrainian wheat exports include Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Spain. Preliminary customs data suggest a drop in exports to Spain. Conversely, Ukrainian corn exports to India exceeded the 2.8 mln mt mark over the July 2016-March 2017 period.
